Back pain in school-age children

Adolescent back pain has been attributed to many factors, including gender, age, working at computers sitting for long periods, school seating and psychological factors. A recent randomised controlled trial carried out by Elizabeth Candy et al of the Physiotherapy department, Ystrad Mynach Hospital, Hengoed, found that the use of a high-density foam seating wedge on back pain intensity when used by 14 to 16-year-old school students was very effective. It reduced the intensity of back pain significantly, especially when used in the evenings.

We offer physiotherapy to teenagers suffering from back pain and related symptoms.
