Taping has been used by therapists and athletes for many years. There is considerable anecdotal but little scientific evidence to support its use.
We use taping in the Practice where it can assist clients with relief of pain following injury or provide improved position sense, enabling exercise to be performed effectively.
Tape is a temporary measure, used whilst healing and strengthening occur. Where appropriate we can teach you or a relative/friend to apply tape in the most effective way. It is important to be aware that incorrectly applied tape can hinder recovery and skin sensitivity can occur in response to some types of tape.
