Ultrasound

Ultrasound produces sound waves that can penetrate through soft tissue. It is particularly useful in soft tissue injuries as it aids the regeneration and repair process when used correctly.

Some of the therapeutic effects are

• Pain relief
• Improved flexibility of scar tissue and collagen
• Increased blood flow to the healing tissues
• Increased absorption of swelling

At Warwick Physio & Rehab it is rarely used in isolation but as an addition to a complete treatment programme.
